LEDS-C4 has undertaken the whole lighting project of the brand new shopping mall Las Arenas in Barcelona, including facade, terraces, entrances and common areas. Visually speaking, one of the most impressive points is the illumination of the facade, where RGB LEDs have been used; There is a very special combination of the lighting on the inside of the arches and the illumination of the columns. Each one of the light spots and architectural elements of the facade can be individually controlled. Actually, LEDS-C4 has designed and developed a totally customized DMX controller for this project. The six floors of the building are crowned by a dome where metal halide projectors have been installed to draw a vertical light effect over the inner supporting columns. The main hall of the shopping mall has been illuminated with 150W metal halide projectors which create a really amazing indirect light effect, simulating an inverted-dome-shaped central light fixture. There have been over 300 Ray projectors of 36W used for the illumination of the inner spaces, giving a general uniform illumination of all the passageways. The projectors installed in the fourth floor are fluorescent linear Hecate projectors with an indirect light effect.
Lighting is shaping the soul in a space.
